ONE WEEK DONE!!!!
WOW- over anything else, I am just proud of myself for sticking through this new lifestyle for a week. Only 3 more to go to finish out my goal.
It's been a cool week. And yes, "cool" is definitely the right word. Apart from feeling different, physically, after eliminating meat, I have also just had some great ups AND downs. I feel super balanced right now, and i'm just really excited to focus on myself. (selfish)
For the meatless story:
Thurs/Fri/Sat had me feeling really really weird. I woke up nauseous, was tired most of the day, not much of an appetite, and was really questioning whether or not I wanted to continue this new lifestyle. I mean- I ate meat every day and just about with every meal. My body is detoxing from it for sure.
Saturday afternoon came, and who knows if it was the yoga or just my body just re-organizing it's energy, but I started feeling awesome. I wasn't itching for a nap, nor was I craving coffee. (which I have now realized, the craving, for coffee, is so mental). I had energy that felt different from being high on caffeine or emergencee packets. I just felt really good.
Becoming aware of what is in the food I have been eating has been a huge turn on lately also. I have been looking up nutrition info in just about everything so that I can actually regulate what is going in...not for a reason that deals with limiting intake, but to make sure I am actually getting enough to keep me going.
I also started taking a new multi-vitamin which turns my pee lime green. Kinda fun.
Iron deficiency is a risk so this multi-vitamin helps me keep that level up. (as well as everything else)
Last night I even got my dad to cook up a vegetarian dish for everyone to try. Of course, the rest of the family ate some beef ribs with it, but the stuffed tomatos were plenty for me.
It's amazing what actually fills me up without having to add meat.
It's also amazing the amount of fiber I eat- and release! ;-)
For the rest of the story:
Some great things from this week-
I learned how to drive a manual transmission. And by Learned..I definitely mean attempted. Luckily I was in a neighborhood so I only pissed off a couple people.
I had 20 students in my yoga class on saturday.
I set up some new yoga classes that will be happening in the woodlands, starting in June.
I had a great conversation with three (yes 3) different former bosses/mentors of mine- leaving me inspired for change and future plans.
I bought shoes for an orphan (toms)
I changed a lock in my back door.
I began plans for a trip to San Fran this summer. (cheap flights + hostel= most inexpensive vacation ever)
and I decided i'm going to dance again. not that I ever officially stopped, but I'm going to train more often, submit choreography for showcases, and just get more involved in the dance community in houston.
WAHOO
Like i said..this week was so Cool.
I love this-
This is Me!
